Factors that can affect size

Various factors can influence the growth of a Mini Sheepadoodle and they are:

  • Genetics: It is considered one of the most significant aspects. If the pup comes from a smaller Miniature Poodle and a smaller sheepdog, it will not grow very big and appear smaller even after it reaches adulthood.
  • Diet and nutrition: Proper nutrition during the development years can make a big difference. Overfeeding or underfeeding both can have negative consequences and lead to abnormal growth.
  • Exercise: Young puppies aren’t the ideal candidates that should indulge in rigorous exercising sessions, but they need a good balance of physical activity. It ultimately helps them in developing leaner and stronger muscle bones.
  • Sterilization: The choice is entirely on the owner, but past evidence suggests sterilizing the pup early can have a slight effect on its growth rate. It can result in taller dogs compared to those who aren’t sterilized.
  • Health conditions: Proper health routine can also make a significant difference on its growth. The ones that tend to suffer from illnesses, parasites, infections, or hormonal imbalances will not grow at a normal pace. In such cases, you must seek the help of a vet and ensure it develops and grows properly.
